Nah, those don't belong to me, but to a gentleman in Southeast Asia who collects such things. He was a great source for quality power cards, at least a couple years ago.

Yeah, but I never got the point of that. If I'm going to be playing a game online, I want something with a whole lot more action than Magic. Magic is all about playing in person down at the card shop. Plus if you want to play constructed it's all T2 and I haven't touched that format since 1998.

Though if you need to grind drafts to prepare for big events, MODO is an invaluable tool.

I most regularly play Stax, for those who care.

Peace,

Ah Magic. I love that game. That is partly why Guild Wars was so appealing

Wow Now I feel stupid making a magic thread when this one was up shouldv've searched harder.

If you don't mind I have a deck to Post.

I must say it's a very casual deck, but very fun to play and best to play in multiplayer with new people sometimes.

The name is called White B*tch
Land
22-Plains
1-Kor Haven

Creatures
2-Exalted Angel
3-Wall of Hope
2-Blinding Angels
1-Serra Avatar (My first and only I had ever since I started magic)
1-Akroma Angel of Wrath
1-Megeta The Lion
1-Konda, Lord of Eiganjo
1-Pristine Angel
1-2 Angelic Wall (I only see one here but there should be two)

Spells
Enchantments-
3-Arrest
2-Test of Endurance
3-Story Circle
2-Pacifism
1-Words of Worship (Would add another but I'm ina magicless town)
Artifacts- 2-Feldon's Cane

Others-
4-Life burst
1-Beacon of Immortality
2-Honor The Fallen (I get so many people ask what card that is. =P)
3-Wraths of God
1-Shining Shoal
2-Akroma's Vengence
1-Catastrophe
1-Final Judgement
1-Balance

Sideboard
1-Catastrophe
1-Akroma's Vengence
1-Delaying Shield
1-Moonlit Wake
1-Fight or Flight
1-Reya Dawnbringer
1-Aegis of Honor
1-Justice
1-Karma
1-Armageddon
2-Swords to Plowshares
1Ancestral Tribute
1-Jareth, Leonine Titan
1- Gerrad capashen

Before picking at it I just want to say it's been a while before I got to tune some cards in/out.
I gave it this name basically it's annoying for creature decks or anything that can't deal with life gain.

PS. That is one thing that has brought me to Guildwars as well. How it closely fits to Magic. Speaking of which I can't wait to see the new set.

I haven't played MTG in a few years, as it got way too competitive in my area (and to me, trying to be too competitive took much of the fun out of it). I am excited, though, about the upcoming block, which hearkens back to the Invasion block in its odd color combinations. They brought back Richard Garfield in design, and even Mark Rosewater has said that the new set is fun to play. When the next block hits, I may have to give cardflopping another look.

I still play MTG and went Friday Night Magic last... and won.

Another similarity is bannings/nerfs. Recently (few months ago) several cards from recent sets (namels Arcbound Ravager) got banned because they were over-powered. If you were to beat this deck you'd need at least 8 hate cards in your sideboard/main deck. Reminds me of the recent nerfing of the solo monk builds.

And yeah, the new block (Ravnica: City of Guilds) looks awesome, apparently containing the best dual-lands since The Original dual-lands.SPOILER

MtG is a dynamic game that forces you to use the most recent card sets and rules. Thats the way to keep the game in balance when new card sets are introduced. Is this ok or do you regret when old cards cant be used any longer in official games? Should GW 'ban' old skills too when new sets of skills are introduced in expansions?

Well, there are thousands of magic cards, thus, thousands of combos. It is difficult to check all overpowered combos, and I know for sure, old + new cards can be overly too good. They introduce new sets, and ban old ones to retain a manageable balance. Extended is for a larger spectrum of sets.

I am happy to announce I have a p9 set as well. Black markets are awesome for buying such things. MTG overpowered cards are just ridiculous compared to Guild Wars. Anyone remember the old days when serra angels traded for moxes and vice versa? Tinker/mono blue artifact decks? 40 lightning bolt decks? Those were the days. Currently I only play t1; the new sets just don't intrigue me. Plus, running mono black suicide and having a chance against decks like Weissmans is just too fun.

How come no mention of Chaos Orb? Quite possibly the funniest card with the funniest history in all of MTG.

The effect: drop it from at least a foot off the playing area and whatever card it lands on is instantly destroyed.

The history: a MTG player won a tournament by ripping the Chaos Orb card and throwing it all over his opponents cards to win. Hence, this card got insta-banned.

Ah yes chaos orb confetti. That brings back memories of old school antiquities age atog abuse with pillows and mobiles made out of the god damm things. The card was still bad considering the logistics of playing a drawn out or high permenant card deck was and table dimensions. The card was a nice idea, but horribly executed. Course there was one time between a couple friends where one side exhaled at the right moment, blowing the card over to the owners side landing it on his deck. It was merely amusing to behold really.

I believe mana war (clash?), been years forgive me, follows the same lines with the whole flipping of the coin bit potentially ending the game with 1 spell.
